Ferberite with Fluorite and Calcite

Some of the finest Ferberite crystals in the world have come from the contemporary finds at the famed Yaogangxian Mine in China. These crystals are some of the largest and notably well-formed examples of this iron tungstate ever found. What really makes them desirable is the associated minerals, as there are often colorful species like Calcite and Fluorite found with the Ferberites. This piece is a showy miniature featuring fine quality, sharp, lustrous, jet-black bladed crystals measuring up to 3.0 cm. A few gemmy purple cubes of Fluorite along with pale pink semi-spherial groups of Calcite and a bit of silvery Muscovite make for nice accents and touches of color to this attractive specimen from this prestigious Chinese mine.
