Item Description
Outstanding and rare style matrix ferberite from this famous Bolivian locale. Matrix pieces are uncommon, as most specimens feature crystals broken off the matrix. This piece is also significant, in that the crystals are isolated and freestanding. Most matrix specimens have ferberites in intergrown clusters. Three large crystals proudly project upward from the sulfide matrix. The classic, very sharp, lustrous, metallic-gray tabular crystals are dominated by the imposing 2.6 cm x 2.6 cm central prism. The large central and right hand crystals are pristine and the left hand crystal has only trivial bruising on the termination, which certainly has very minimal impact to the overall exceptional quality of this rare style matrix ferberite. Ex Rob Sielecki Collection, prominent Australian dealer and collector.
