A stunning competitive-level rarity in aesthetic quality - and such twins only come from ONE place in the world. The Tazna Mine is renowned for it superb, bladed Ferberite crystals, both twinned and untwinned. Twinned crystals are 1 in 100, and pieces showing the double-twin structure like an "X" here, I can only say I can coung the ones I have seen on one hand. This small cabinet piece features several sharp, lustrous, jet-black, and bladed Ferberite crystals associated with unusual and attractive aggregates of golden Marcasite. The largest Ferberite runs the entire length of the piece, and for all the world look at first just like the spinel-twinned Fluorites you see from classic locations in Namibia and China, for instance. In addition to such good luster, the Ferberites have interesting striations on some faces, for extra small detail. A significant and attractive Ferberite specimen from this famous Bismuth locality in southern Bolivia, and much better in person, even. These Bolivian Ferberites are too often underrated, and stand up well against any other Ferberites from China or Panasqueira - but this is in a totally different league than most. 3-dimensional and visually full of depth, in person.
