Item Description

Classic and aesthetic mineral combination from the famous Panasqueira mines, dating to the heyday here of the late 1960s and the 1970s. A pristine, translucent, sharply terminated, 7.5 cm Quartz crystal dominates the very sculptural piece and is jauntily set upright on intergrown, lustrous, jet-black Ferberite crystals. Tiny Sphalerites are peppered on the large Quartz and a patch of glassy, tan Siderites are fine accessories. Two smaller, well-placed quartz crystals on one side are nicely accented with lustrous, striated, metallic-gray Arsenopyrite crystals. Both ends of the ferberite crystals are contacted, but have very minimal impact to the overall high quality of this fine piece. The piece displays well without aid.
