Item Description

The prestigious Yaogangxian Mine is one of China's great specimen producing localities. For over 20 years, the market has seen a great deal of fine quality display mineral specimen, ranging from common to rare species. This full sized cabinet specimen features an excellent, fine quality, tabular, elongated, striated, thick, jet-black Ferberite crystal measuring 7.4 cm, aesthetically flaring off robust, lustrous, sharp, gemmy prismatic Quartz crystal matrix. The reverse side of the specimen hosts many silvery-grey colored, thick crystal groups of Arsenopyrite along with contrasting tan Siderite. The Ferberite is crystallized all around, but it is understandably contacted on the base where it was removed from the pocket wall. A very attractive and really showy display specimen from one of the greatest mines in China. Priced in the inventory at $4,500. From the collection of Brian Kosnar
