Item Description
This is an impressive and truly high quality Ferberite specimen from the contemporary classic locality at the Yaogangxian Mine. This piece features many very sharp, incredibly well-formed, jet-black, thin, prismatic, lustrous, striated crystals of Ferberite associated with GEM quality colorless to milky white Quartz. You could easily mistake this for a Hubnerite from the Huayllapon Mine in Peru, but it's not. This is honestly in the upper echelon for Ferberite, and compares favorably to some of the best examples in the world from places like Panasqueira, Portugal or various Bolivian localities. Do not miss out on this one. I know it's just another "black rock", but it's more important than that, and it truly deserves attention and respect for being such a fine crystallized example of a well known species. There is truly only minor damage, and if you compare it to other Ferberites from Yaogangxian, I think it's among the better pieces I've seen from this locality.
