Item Description
An unusual and certainly unique Ferberite specimen from this famous Bismuth locality in southern Bolivia. This species was sometimes previously referred to as "Wolframite", which was supposed to be an intermediary species between Ferberite and Hubnerite, but has since been discredited. This piece features several fairly sharp, matte luster, semi metallic, thick, black blades of Ferberite forming an unusual twin, (twinned on the "a" {100} face), and a very interesting crystal group. The piece is not 100% damage free, but the back is actually RECRYSTALLIZED, not broken, and it really stands out from the majority of Ferberites we've offered in the auctions. This mine has arguably produced the finest twinned Ferberites extant.
