Item Description

A classic, historic specimen from the famous locality at Baia Sprie (Felsobanya) featuring bladed groups of jet black Ferberite crystals sitting on pale golden crystals of Calcite with minor Chalocpyrite matrix. Fine quality, showy and very desirable! The largest Ferberite group measures 1.8 cm long. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6644). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
