Item Description

A decent display specimen of Ferberite from Bolivia. This species was sometimes previously referred to as "Wolframite", which was supposed to be an intermediary species between Ferberite and Hubnerite but has since been discredited. The piece features several sharp, somewhat lustrous, aesthetic, jet-black, balded crystals of Ferberite forming a nice group with only slight damage on the display side. The main crystal does have a crack, as can often happen with this material when the material is mishandled by the miners. These Bolivian Ferberites are often underrated and stand up well against any other Ferberites from China or Panasqueira.
