Fairfieldite (rare, classic material)

Item Description

A classic specimen from the famous Foote Mine in western North Carolina. The piece features groups off-white colored, gemmy / translucent crystal "sprays" of the well known phosphate Fairfieldite on matrix. Individual crystals are hard to measure, but they come in around 5 mm. Smaller crystals of Fairfieldite can be seen on the piece as well. It is certainly worthwhile for any collector of this material based upon the crystal size, quality and the good coverage of crystals.
