Item Description
A classic, highly desirable smithonsite varietal from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine and the Howard Belsky Collection. Gemmy and lustrous, light amber, elongated, smithsonite scalenohedrons richly cover the mounded matrix. The striking large crystal is 2.2 cm and it is pristine. All of the major crystals sticking up are pristine, although modest periphery damage and some lesser broken crystals needs to be noted (this is present, but has very minimal impact on the overall display impact). This is a very fine quality of gem-like smithsonite in a rare habit/varietal. The crystals look like classic English calcites, pseudo-scalenohedral, but yet they are not! Valued at $1250. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
