Item Description
Exceptional, sharp, isolated chalcocite crystals are dramatically clustered atop the crystallized sculptural chalcocite matrix on this outstanding and aesthetic small cabinet from the famous mid-1990s finds at the Flambeau Mine. These are easily some of US's finest chalcocites. The sharp crystals at the crest reach 1.5 cm and all of the myriad of crystals have lovely subtle peacock iridescence. This is an outstanding and pristine 360-degree chalcocite from this extinct rich small open pit copper mine, that closed in 1997. A remarkable specimen with noteworthy isolated crystals. Valued at $1000-1500.
