Item Description
Euxenite-(Y) is a REE oxide found in granatic pegmatites, sometimes in placer deposits. Specimens of this large size are very rare from this Wyoming locale. This is an outstanding euhedral prismatic crystal with brown color and some embedded mica. As the Trimingham label states, this is a "Unique xl for its fine size and form." According to his label, it was collected by the property owner Ralph Platt in about 1970. An excellent compliment to the previously described Emcampment monazite crystal. Hefty and rich REE material at 673 grams or 1.5 pounds.
