Item Description
Eudidymite is a rare hydrated Be-silicate and specimens from the Type Locality are rare and are seldom on the market. Two generations of flattened, twinned, prisms are richly and aesthetically set in the sculptural vug on massive blocky matrix. Pearlescent, star-shaped prisms, to 1.3 cm, lie atop an earlier generation of crystals covered with green chlorite. Ex Francesco Bedogne Collection # 716. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. Very choice and rich eudidymite from this locale.
