Item Description
A rare and excellent specimen of a large, 2.1 x 2.0 cm, free-growing, trigonal, lustrous, brown eudialyte crystal from Greenland. Eudialyte is a RARE sodium, calcium zirconium silicate found only in unusual igneous terrains, such as nepheline syenites and alkalic granites. This is an exceptional and showy example of this rare species from this locality. Usually they are without luster and form in the massive rock, which is chipped to reveal the xls inside. This large crystal is of fine quality, naturally growing into an open pocket and so with remarkable luster you normally would not see. Both sides have contacting, with no damage, per se. Cornerwear is noted, but is certainly only a modest detraction. It's an important piece. Valued $300-500.
