Item Description
An impressive, rich, and colorful large combination piece from the famous Kipawa alkaline complex in Canada. Lustrous, glassy, translucent, magenta Eudialyte starkly contrasts with black Amphiboles, Feldspars, and suite of fluorescent minerals. Among these is the very rare, fluorine-rich Agrellite (lavendar fluorescence), for which Kipawa is the TYPE LOCALITY, and opaque Vlasovite (yellow-green fluorescence). Feldpsar, Calcite, and other associated rarities may very well be adding to the cacophony of colors. In visible light, this small cabinet specimen looks like a piece from the great mines at Franklin, and under UV light the wonderful similarities continue.From the large worldwide collection of historical minerals, of George Elling of New Jersey.
