Item Description

A colorful and exotic combination from this well-known Quebic alkaline complex. Pods of bright, glassy, magenta Eudialyte are adjacent to two pods of blocky, pearly, translucent grayish-brown agrellite. Agrellite is a very rare silicate with fluorine and this is the Type Locality. Black amphiboles are a fine accessory and contrast in the blocky off-white albite matrix. The agrellite fluoresces pink in both the LW and SW UV shots, the albite is red in the SW shot along with an unknown green fluorescent mineral. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. Quality combination specimens from the Kipawa are uncommon and this is an excellent example.
