Item Description

This is a very large, prismatic, medium blue, translucent to gemmy Euclase crystal from the famous Emerald mines of Colombia. It is more translucent in the core and more transparent at the edges that corresponds to a richer color in the center and slightly less so on the exterior where it is more gemmy. The Euclase has an etched, somewhat crude termination at the top, with the side (prism) faces lightly striated. The crystal is roughly and oddly triangular in cross-section shape and measures a full inch and a half long - this is big! It is accented by clusters of white, 2 to 4 mm Calcite crystals for great contrast. This is a relatively large Euclase for the locality and just an unusual display specimen for any euclase, because of the big size and strange contorted shape.
