Euclase (rough and cut set)

Euclase is not often found in gemmy crystals from most localities, and good gem material is rarely available on a worldwide basis. I think its safe to say that the most desirable hue for Euclase is blue, but there are only a few places on Earth where good blue Euclase is found. Here we have an attractive rough and cut set from Equador, Brazil featuring a colorless group of sharp, lustrous crystals of Euclase, with a very faint blue shade in spots, accompanied by an "Oval Brilliant" cut stone with a very pleasing light blue color. The largest crystal on the specimen measures 1.3 cm long. The stone has nearly eye clean clarity, and it makes for a really attractive rough and cut set. A beautiful set of this seldom seen material from Rio Grande do Norte.
