Item Description

A very large, striated, lustrous, translucent to opaque, two-toned blue euclase crystal from the Lost Hope Mine of Zimbabwe. This is an important large crystal for the classic locality. The two blue colors are vivid. It is a pristine, relatively sharp, complete-all-around and doubly-terminated crystal. This is the classic locality that has produced by far and away the world's most intense blue crystals of the species. Specimens such as this came out from the 1960s and are seldom seen today, only as old collections recycle. The back is contacted but you can still see the clear crystal faces in different orientations. Valued $2500-4500. Ex. Jingnan Zhang Coll.
