Item Description

A pair of classic specimens from the early 1970s of the famous yet elusive "blue stripe" Euclase crystals from near Equador, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. I was told once that the intense neon blue zone in these crystals is caused by germanium oxide. These are some of the most distincitve and eye-catching Euclase crystals outside of Colombia. These alluring little thumbnails are essentially white / colorless on the outer boundaries, but the centers have one of the most intense internal blue colors that you'll see in the mineral world. They're fairly sharp and mostly complete crystals with good luster. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection.
