Ettringite, Oyelite & Barite (rare combo)

Item Description

Barite is rare from the renowned N'Chwaning mines. This showy and excellent large combination features an aesthetically set, 3.2 cm, well-terminated, soft lemon-yellow, translucent, ettringite crystal on the edge of the piece. They have an unusual shimmering surface sheen, very attractive. The matrix is crystallized or manganese-rich ore mostly covered on the front by a blanket of bubbly, botryoidal oyelite - a rare borosilicate. Numerous, mostly coated gray barite blades, are clearly evident. This is a dramatic, excellent example of the find and rare combination species.
