Item Description

Barite is rare from the renowned N'Chwaning mines. This showy and excellent combination features an aesthetic cluster of well-terminated, soft lemon-yellow, translucent, completely formed and free of damage crystals to 2.7 cm matrix. They have an unusual shimmering surface sheen, very attractive. The matrix is a manganese-rich ore completely covered on the front by a blanket of bubbly, botryoidal oyelite - a rare borosilicate. The three gray barite blades, to 1.6 cm, are on one edge of the piece. There is even a classic, pristine, sharp and lustrous, 1.1 cm, hematite crystal on the back. This is a dramatic, excellent example of the find and rare combination species.
