Ettringite on Hematite (rare combo)

This piece features a rarely seen combination of yellow Ettringite with metallic Hematite from the famous N'Chwaning Mines in the Kalahari Manganese Field of South Africa. This showy and aesthetic miniature features a predominant, 2.0 cm, sharp, translucent, soft yellow hexagonal prism of Ettringite sitting atop superb, highly reflective (splendent), rich silvery-black colored, metallic, blocky Hematite crystals measuring up to 3.2 cm. I can't stress the incredibly high mirror-like quality of the big face on the main Hematite crystal. The underside of the piece features soft white colored Oyelite. This is a unique piece from a unique pocket, with excellent form. The combination makes for one of the more impactful and memorable pieces you'll see from this locality. The black / yellow color contrast is really stark and exciting, and I think overall the balance of the two species makes the piece special.
