Item Description
Unusual combination piece consisting of a translucent, undulating plate of parallel, intergrown Ettringites with a yellow layer of Jouravskite along the top. The gemmy, terminated Ettringites are about 6 mm in length, and they are grouped together in a layer very reminiscent of a layer of basalt with columnar jointing. Imagine them as a series of gemmy peaks (some of the crystals actually are), and the Jouravskite takes the role of a layer of yellow snow. An attractive, aesthetic combination piece from the Nchwaning district.
