Item Description
Gypsums included by anything colorful are rather remarkable for both occurance and aesthetics. The main face of this single, large, gemmy Gypsum crystal (which although flat, is definitely a crystal face with natrual surface striations) is very transparent and complete. The sides are cleaved where it was attached to other rock, of course. The smooth faces have superb luster, and are like windows to look inside. The back and front are coated by a fluorescent mineral, Calcite I think, sparkly bits of which can be seen through the gypsum. The small Ettringite crystals add a lovely yellow to the Gypsum, and look quite intriguing suspended within the clear crystal. Unusual!
