Item Description
Aquamarine crystals from the Sawtooth Mountains are very uncommon and are seldom on the market. Most crystals are etched, but this very fine doubly terminated miniature has beautiful gem sections along with dramatic etching. The very glassy and lustrous crystal has classic rich ice-blue color. Two prism faces are gem and all there. Both terminations are etched. Striking cavernous etching and embedded feldspar highlight the other four sides of the textbook hexagonal crystal. A very fine and classic example of the species and locale from the Kay Robertson Collection # 11355. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). valued $400-500
