A striking, highly unusual aquamarine from Brazil. This translucent, very glassy and lustrous crystal has variable pretty blue color saturation. The hexagonal crystal is doubly terminated and is preferentially heavily etched. One glassy face is only very light etched, while the backside is heavily etched with crevasses. It looks like an icicle wall! One termination is heavily etched with hundreds of little spikes, with the other termination is gently contacted, with no damage.
