Item Description
This specimen came to us labeled as coming from simply "Ontario, Canada", and is most likely from the Cobalt area. Upon close inspection, one can see this piece hosts some fine quality micro crystals of reddish-purple Erythrite sitting on host rock matrix. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. If you collect Canadian minerals, this is a great piece to add to your collection, and the quality and color of the crytals is excellent. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12468). The label states that the piece came from the Byler or Oyler collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
