Item Description

Wow, a piece of Erythrite from the type locality in Germany. This material was named in 1832 by Francois Sulpice Beaudant From the Greek "erythros" for red, but the material had been reported as far back as 1727 by Franz Ernest Bruckmann as "Kobold-Bluthe". This is a good example of Erythrite from this famous mine with beautiful botryoidal groups of silky rose-pink color scattered on matrix. Sure it's a far cry from the classic specimens from Morocco, but you just don't see these pieces on the market these days! It comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. Joe valued it at $350, and I can safely say it's worth more today.
