Erythrite (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

A classic small cabinet sized specimen dating back to the 1970s-1980s from the famous Aghbar Mine featuring sharp, lustrous, bladed, purple-red color Erythrite crystals measuring up to a whopping 2.7 cm with additional incomplete blades of Erythrite on matrix. The main crystal is actually doubly-terminated, as I can see a tiny termination peeking out of the bottom of the crystal. It should be noted that Erythrite would not be a well known species with out the amazing pieces from Morocco. It's hard to find crystals over 1 inch from this locality, especially free standing crystals like this. Priced at $1,200 in the inventory. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
