Erythrite (classic material) (ex Tom Campbell Collection)

Item Description

A good thumbnail sized specimen featuring excellent, bladed, uniquely purple-red color Erythrite crystals forming a beautiful fan-like "spray" with a few associated white rhombs of Dolomite. This is one of those two-sided specimens that looks nice from either direction. The largest Erythrite crystal measures 1.1 cm long. The piece has a couple of tiny contacts on the terminations of the crystals, but it's still a wonderful specimen with nice aesthetics. Classic material, and the best of these specimens come from Morocco, along with having an unmatched color in the mineral world. Erythrite would not be a very well known species were it not for the amazing pieces from Morocco. applied mineralogy, and has even more years under his belt as a collector! Tom has described many new species over the years, and discovered the rare phosphates Tiptopite, Fransoletite and Pahasapaite.
