Item Description

A beautiful and fine quality example of the classic Erythrites from Bou Azzer. This piece doesn't feature the typical monoclinic blades, but rather gorgeous "sprays" of vivid magenta colored "needles" of Erythrite measuring up to about 5 mm long, filling the interior of a vug in oxidized matrix. The crystals are wonderful to view up close, and they have an almost sparkling chatoyance when rotated in the light. The color is captivating, as few minerals have this kind of deep intensity, yet with a brilliance all their own. This is an older specimen, mined in the 1980s, and is certainly different from most you'll see on the market. A wonderful piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals, or specifically minerals from Morocco. This piece was priced at $1,500 in the inventory.
