Epistilbite on Quartz and Calcite, with Julgoldite (rare)

Item Description

Very nice cluster of radial Epistilbite. The Epistilbite grouping is composed of translucent, lustrous, white crystals, sitting on a drusy matrix of Quartz and Calcite. This cluster is about 2.8 cm across, and it is accompanied by an amazing cluster of acicular black needles, all terminated, of the very rare Julgoldite-(Fe). It is unclear if this is the Fe2+ or Fe3+ species. Overall, an attractive, classic zeolite pocket from the famous Pune District of India, and an unusual and important combination.
