Item Description

A few sharp, well-formed, lustrous, translucent, prismatic crystals of Epidote measuring up to 5.7 cm on Quartz from an undisclosed locality in Calaveras County, California. The Epidote are mostly black on the exterior, but when strongly backlit showing golden to green highlights. The largest crystal is terminated, while some of the smaller crystals are contacted. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5086). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
