From this significant mine south of Houghton that produced 171 million pounds of Copper in its day, here we have an interesting association specimen of Epidote, Quartz and Calcite. Small, sparkling, beautiful rich green colored crystals of Epidote associated with GEM quality, colorless Quartz crystals sitting on Calcite matrix. Part of the Calcite matrix is actually well-crystallized and is creeping over the top/back of the specimen and reveals its superb glistening gemmy quality. From the Gene and Sally LaBerge Collection.
