A very aesthetic large specimen of thick, textbook epidote crystals, with sharp chisel-head terminations, from this modern classic locality. They form a splayed nest, in which are small spheres of apple green prehnite. Complete all around, this is nearly a floater. All the major crystals are intact, and it has a really 3-dimensional presence in person that is hard to convey. Rock Currier was the prime exporter of tons of amazing and interesting new Mali material starting in the mid-ought 2000's. Being Rock, he kept some of the best for himself, as the tonnage flowed through to his wholesale business. He bought this at the mine location in 2005, himself. Valued $1000. Photo by Jingnan Zhang.
