Item Description
Starting the early 2000s, we started seeing these distinctive and high quality specimens coming out of Mali. They often feature Prehnite with Epidote, and are some of the most beautiful examples of these two minerals together from any world locality. This small cabinet specimen is a highly aesthetic, display piece from the Sougounikoura diggings featuring several glistening, vitreous, dark, greenish-black prismatic crystals of Epidote measuring up to 5.2 cm long, which play host to gorgeous translucent spherical groups of "water green" colored Prehnite measuring up to 1.8 cm across. The piece is in fine condition all around, there are only a few points of attachment on the base, and it displays so wonderfully as you can see. Valued $950.
