Item Description
Despite the fact that this province is incredibly well-known for its pegmatite minerals (Tourmaline, Spodumene, etc.), these specimens are actually from a metamorphic skarn deposit. These are some of the lesser known Epidotes from this area, as most people associate Epidote with Pakistan. This piece hosts a sharp, lustrous, golden (more green in different lighting), gemmy, crystals of Epidote measuring up to 1.0 cm with dark greenish prismatic Diopside on matrix. The main Epidote crystal is contacted, but overall, the piece is in good shape. An attractive miniature specimen from this interesting occurence in Afghanistan.
