Item Description

Epidote is one of the most well known of all the alpine cleft species and some of the finest Epidote specimens in the world have come out of Pakistan over the last couple of decades. These specimens are seemingly identical to the classic Alpine specimens from Europe, and in certain instances, have surpassed the European specimens for quality and gemminess. This is a very good cluster composed almost entirely of prismatic, translucent to transparent Epidote crystals from 0.5 to 4 cm long that are lightly striated parallel to their length. The large, lustrous crystals are all in random orientation on the top of the specimen and just sparkle in any orientation. The Epidotes are sprinkled in places with small clusters of translucent white, 1 to 2 mm crystals of Adularia for added aesthetics. Adularia is the lustrous, sparkling variety of feldspar, more rare than the typical opaque material.
