Epidote w/ Stilbite ex Obodda

Epidote and stilbite specimens are rare compared to epidote/prehnite specimens from this well-known Kayes Region locale. This is an impressive, large, 360-degree, intergrown cluster of lustrous, dark olive-green epidote crystals peppered with starkly contrasting pearlescent stilbite blades. The epidotes, to 5.5 cm (doubly terminated), have classic chisel terminations and nifty areas of glassy, light olive-green translucence under bright light. The attachment point is at the fat end and there is very light periphery wear to this very fine large and uncommon combination from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this piece at $700, over 5 years ago.
