Item Description

A well-constructed epidote small cabinet plate from this famed locale. Aesthetically intergrown, lustrous, sharply terminated, epidote crystals have nifty light olive-green highlights. The large crystal is 2.8 x 2.7 x 1.2 cm. A cluster of quartz points on the back side are a nice accent. The four primary crystals are in great shape, with only a trivial edge bruise to the large crystal. The periphery wear on one side has minimal impact to the quality of this showy piece. Older material from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and obtained in a trade with the Naples Mineral Museum in 1978. The faded F. Pisani label may date this piece to the 1935 collecting expedition by Art Montgomery and Ed Over! Classic epidote.
