Item Description
These unusual and eye-catching Epidote specimens from the Raskoh Mountains of Pakistan are instantly recognizable for their unusual form. You can see they do not have the characteristic thin prismatic appearance of those from places like Tormiq or Alchuri in Pakistan, but rather are opaque and often thick / blocky, with a notably darker green hue. Additionally they have a distinctive secondary coating of what I'm told is Magnetite, as these crystals actually show a weak magnetism when exposed to magnetic objects. This small cabinet sized display specimen features a thick, stout, orthorhombic crystal with pseudo-hexagonal form and great three-dimensional appeal. You can see accessory secondary crystals on both the front and back of the piece. It is a complete "floater", as it's crystallized all the way around, with no point of attachment. A very good specimen of this now difficult to find material. I haven't seen any new specimens of this material on the market in several years, so pick this one up as it's unique and interesting for the species.
