Item Description

Gemmy and lustrous, light and dark olive-green epidote crystals to 1.0 cm fill the curved vug on this showy and excellent combination specimen from this well-known locale. The matrix includes some quartz and much uralite. Uralite is a variety of the amphibole group. It is most often a pseudomorph of an amphibole (actinolite) after a pyroxene (diopside/augite). The back has been sawed to enhance the display quality. Classic Colorado combination material from the Schlichter Collection.
