Item Description

Striking, highly unusual, tabular, pseudo-hexagonal epidote from a 2011 find at this obscure Pakistan mountain range, which has produced world-class brookite, anatase and amethyst specimens. The highly lustrous near floater crystal is pistachio-green to nearly black. Interestingly, all the crystal faces have a rippled lustrous texture, except for one edge face, which is smooth. The side car crystals on both sides add sculptural pizzazz. The large host crystal is essentially pristine. A couple of bruised side car crystals are certainly only a modest detraction. Fascinating and exotic two-sided Pakistan epidote. Many specimens from the find are magnetic, due to embedded micro magnetite crystals, but this one is not.
