Item Description

A sculptural, sharply terminated, parallel-growth epidote crystal from a small 2011-12 find at this obscure Peru skarn outcrop. The highly lustrous crystals are blackish-green and are nicely accented in the front with secondary overgrowths of pistachio-green epidote microcrystals. The back is nearly fully covered with the smaller crystals. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a trivial bruise to the tip of a side car crystal in the front. Ex Allen Dillwith Collection. A rare and excellent compound single crystal from the find and locale.
