Epidote & Quartz (classic locale)

Item Description

An impressive, rich and sculptural large epidote and quartz combination from this famous locale. This striking wing-shaped, two-sided piece is composed 100% of intergrown epidote and quartz crystals. The sharp, lustrous, epidote crystals, to 2.7 cm, are mostly black, but flashes of classic olive-green translucence are easily seen under bright light. There are two pristine, doubly terminated quartz crystals on one side, as 3.5 and 2.9 cm. Complete all-around and in super shape, for all the crystal density. We see few, if any, broken crystals on either side. The attachment is at the base of the one of the "wings" and is barely noticable. This excellent and classic rich combination has multiple display views. Collected in 1994-95, according to the label. From an East Coast collection. Value??
