Item Description

RARE and sculptural small cabinet epidote and quartz combination from a limited 1981 find at this less well-known Inyo County, California locale - Saline Valley. An impressive intergrown cluster of lustrous, chisel-terminated, olive-green and dark green epidote crystals are dramatically accented with quartz crystal sections. Epidotes reach 6.0 cm in length. The striking quartz crystal section at the top with the nifty small embedded epidote crystal is 3.2 cm long. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. He passed away in 2020. A very showy combination and seldom on the market.
