Item Description
This piece is from the 2011 discovery, and I have to say that they might be the most unusual and interesting Epidote crystals from any locality in Pakistan. These pieces came out of Balochistan (where the exciting Brookite and Anatase specimens have been coming out for several years). These pieces do not have the characteristic thin prismatic appearance of those from places like Tormiq or Alchuri, but rather are opaque and often thick / blocky, with a notably darker green hue. This small cabinet sized display specimen features compressed orthorhombic (pseudo-hexagonal) crystal with smooth, sharp, lustrous faces. It is mostly damage free, and mostly crystallized all the way around, but it's a bit rough on the bottom / back side. A good overall specimen of this now difficult to find material. It is clear that this material is no longer being found, and virtually nothing is available on the market now, so pick this one up as these are unique and interesting for the species.
