Item Description
Here we have wonderful, near "floater" group of Epidote originally said to be form the "Raywoo Mine" in Balochistan, Pakistan, though it seems this might be a misnomer, as we can't find proof that this was actually a valid locality. I will say that regardless of the actual name of the locality, these Epidotes don't get enough credit for their size and quality, as they are notably good for the species. If you think about famous Epidotes from localities like the Knappenwand in Austria or the Green Monster Mountain in Alaska, neither of them typically produce crystals of this thickness, while still having good luster and form. This crystals on this piece have sharp, well-formed faces with a deep green hue, and a notably pseudo-hexagonal shape (they're actually compressed prisms) intergrown to create a showy and three-dimensional piece. The piece is in great shape, though not 100% complete, as there is a contact on the base where it was separated from the pocket wall.
